About Us
Pastor Chatmon was called to pastor Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church of Hobson City, Alabama in February of 2014. Under his leadership, Oak Ridge has grown both spiritually and physically.
Pastor Chatmon is truly an anointed shepherd with a vision of progress, growth and spiritual healing, not only for Oak Ridge, but for the community of Hobson City as well. Under Pastor Chatmon’s leadership, Oak Ridge has evolved with strengthened ministries such as the Missionary Society, Sick & Shut-In Committee, “Let’s Talk” Youth Ministry, as well as the Community Outreach Program. Pastor Chatmon initiated “Seed” Sunday, the second Sunday of each month. The idea of a Mustard Seed Sunday was born out of a vision from God. The primary focus is to teach and encourage our members to act on the words of Jesus as recorded in Matthew 17: 20 “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. This ‘Faith’ offering has led to the upgrading of different areas of the church; a new roof, reinforced sanctuary foundation, extended pulpit, renovated bathrooms to handicapped accessibility, updated dinning room furniture; modernized heating and air conditioning and air purifier as well as improved office computers and copier equipment. Pastor Chatmon is greatly loved as shepherd, preacher, teacher and evangelist.
We embrace and esteem the humble presence of Sister Lora as she leads and ministers to the women and children of Oak Ridge. We thank God for her unfailing support for our Pastor’s vision and for Oak Ridge. Sister Chatmon is greatly loved for her patience, wisdom and guidance as a leader, teacher, mother, sister and friend.
